Tuesday D&D 11/08/2015 (Escape from Hell's Reach)

So this particular game was an out of schedule one so we could finish a fight off before the DM for it went overseas for a while. 

We have an audio recording of it, too, but I've not gotten my grubby little hands on it yet, so for now you'll have to be content with some candid photo shots of participants and my very exciting character sheet. Note the strategic whiteboard and astonishing magnet collection!

New M20 game, Sunday 09/08/2015

So this is a new game, with new characters. We didn't get much actual game play happening in this session, mainly character creation and fine tuning and figuring out the new rules because some of them are really complicated.

Background: Game is a V20 based game set in LA after the happenings of the VTM Bloodlines computer game. (For more information, see here.) Jeanette is Jeanette Voerman, Malkavian, sister to the Baron of Santa Monica, Therese Voerman. VV is Velvet Velour, from the same game. Niles and Abrianna are original characters (I'm Abrianna). So the story is, Jeanette's been Presenced to oblivion by a visiting Elder, and Niles and Abrianna have 'rescued' her, brought her back to Niles' place, and are now trying to figure out what to do with her. Michael is Jeanette/Therese's in game partner, and another original character.



[17:51] <Abrianna> I hate to be the voice of terrible reason, but if you're concerned about her leaving, stake her.
[17:51] * VV looks appalled.
[17:53] * Niles looks at Abrianna. "That's probably not a great idea. We want her intact."
[17:53] * Abrianna raises an eyebrow. "Have you ever staked someone before?"
[17:53] <Niles> No, I don't make it a point to get into situations where staking is required.
[17:54] <Abrianna> It'll just paralyse her.
[17:54] <Abrianna> It won't kill her.
[17:54] <Niles> It'll stab her. Still not a good thing.
[17:55] * Abrianna looks at him. "Since when did you have such a bleeding heart." She pauses and giggles a little. "Okay bad pun."
[17:56] * Niles looks at VV, then back at Abrianna, then Jeanette. "How badly do you want to stay with Michael?"
[17:56] * Jeanette is still crying
[17:57] <VV> Also, how much does Michael want to be with her? Because frankly he's been a bit absent so far.
[17:57] <VV> There may be worse things than being enthralled to an elder.
[17:58] <Niles> ... Okay, someone came up with a plan so I didn't kidnap the sister of a Baroness for nothing.
[17:58] <Michael> ... You guys know I'm right here, right?
[17:59] <Abrianna> Well say something then!
[17:59] <Michael> Okay. "Kidnapped" huh?
[17:59] <Niles> I BORROWED HER FROM THE ELDER.
[17:59] <Abrianna> Technically she was catatonic so she couldn't say no.
[18:00] <Niles> THAT'S NOT HELPING.
[18:00] * VV whispers, "Not helping!"
[18:00] <Michael> ... Look, I appreciate what you're doing. Keep her safe until I can figure out how to get his fingers out of Jeanette and Therese.
[18:01] <Abrianna> So we can stake her?
[18:01] <Michael> ... Can you not ruin her clothing in the process?
[18:02] * Abrianna looks disgusted with him.
[18:02] <Abrianna> Fine. I'll do it.
[18:02] * Abrianna looks around for a sharp wooden implement.
[18:02] * VV winces. I'll go upstairs.
[18:03] <Niles> Jeanette?
[18:03] * Niles looks at Jeanette.
[18:03] * Jeanette sniffles. "Yes?"
[18:03] <Niles> Do you mind if we stab you in the heart with a sharp pointy stick so the Elder can't make you go be his bitch so you can stay with Michael?
[18:04] * Jeanette looks at Niles.
[18:04] * Jeanette looks around at everyone else.
[18:04] * Jeanette nods. "We can't stop him."
[01:04] <Niles> I promise, I'll only touch your boobs, like, twice.
[01:04] * Abrianna slaps Niles.
[01:04] <Abrianna> I said I'll do it. 
[01:05] <Niles> I know, and I'm not arguing with that, I'm just pointing out we're going to stab her and keep her Torpid body here until we can figure out how to stop an Elder from being a dickbag and in the process, I'm probably going to touch her breasts a couple of times.
[01:06] <Abrianna> There are plenty of other breasts to touch. How do you know he hasn't booby trapped them?
[01:06] * Abrianna pauses a moment then starts sniggering.
[01:06] <Michael> ... That was god awful and you should feel god awful.
[01:06] * Niles facepalms.
[01:06] * Abrianna is still sniggering.
[01:07] * Abrianna controls herself. "How about you go get me some wood so I can shove it in Jeanette," she says with an absolutely straight face for all of about five seconds, before collapsing into laughter.
[01:07] <Abrianna> ((me is so going to lose humanity over this))
[01:08] <Niles> ... I do have some wood I can let you thrust into her body.
[01:08] <Michael> Could we please?
[01:08] * VV is still appalled. "I don't believe you two."
[01:08] <Niles> Oh yeah, we could please.
[01:08] * Abrianna laughs more.
[01:08] * Niles erupts into a fit of giggles too.
[01:09] * Abrianna is bent over from laughing so hard.
[01:13] <VV> You two disgust me.
[01:15] <Niles> Not when I'm shoving my wood into you, thank you.
[01:15] * Abrianna waves a hand weakly at VV from where she's bent over laughing.
[01:15] <Michael> Do I need to be here for this?
[01:15] <Abrianna> Yes!
[01:15] <Abrianna> This is your girlfriend we're shoving Niles' wood into.
[01:15] <Niles> Do you particularly want to know how it goes when we shove this hard, firm, phallic piece of wood into your lady friend's busom?
[01:16] * Michael sighs.
[01:16] * Abrianna takes a deep breath and stands up, wiping tears from her eyes. "Anyway. About that wood."
[01:16] <Niles> I've got all the wood you ladies could want.
[01:16] * Niles visibly fights the urge to giggle some more.
[18:17] <Abrianna> For now, give me your wood.
[18:17] * Abrianna giggles again.
[18:18] * Niles erupts into a gigglefit. "That's what SHE said!" He points at VV.
[18:18] <Niles> Oh, god, she did too!
[18:18] * Niles points at Jeanette.
[18:18] * VV glares at him. "Niles, you are not impressing me."
[18:18] * Abrianna wheezes with laughter.
[18:18] * Jeanette sniffles a little, pathetically.
[18:19] * Niles walks over and breaks a broomstick in half. "Hold on, daddy's about to impale this schoolgirl's chest with a massive piece of his own wood." He walks back over to Jeanette.
[18:19] * Abrianna sighs. "At least sharpen it."
[18:20] <Abrianna> And, I said I'd do it. You hold her down in case she convulses.
[18:20] * Niles hands her the stick. "Okay, you apparently know how to handle my wood better than I do." He is red with laughter.
[18:21] * Abrianna sniggers some more. "Wait, let me get a grip of it..."
[18:21] <Niles> Yes, you can't hold my wood loosely. You need a firm grip when you use my wood on her chest.
[18:21] * Niles gigglefits some more.
[18:22] * Abrianna giggles right back at him.
[18:22] <Michael> There's something wrong with you people.
[18:22] <VV> I agree.
[18:22] <Niles> Yeah, I don't know how to handle my wood.
[18:22] <Abrianna> I do!
[18:22] * Abrianna heaves a huge sigh, and pulls out one of her knives to start sharpening the end.
[18:22] <Niles> Crisis averted. Abrianna knows how to handle my firm shaft of wood.
[18:23] * Abrianna murmurs, "You better believe it."
[18:23] * Niles holds his hand up for a highfive from Abrianna.
[18:23] * Abrianna looks at him with a shaft in one hand and a knife in the other and raises an eyebrow.
[18:23] <Michael> You people need therapy, Jesus and rehab.
[18:23] <Abrianna> Hands full, sorry. You know how it is.
[18:23] * Niles looks at VV, hand up in the air.
[18:24] <VV> Don't even go there with me.
[18:24] * Niles looks at Jeanette.
[18:24] * Jeanette looks at Niles.
[18:24] * Abrianna finishes sharpening the stake and puts her knife away again.
[18:25] <Niles> Nothing? Really? That was comedy gold.
[18:25] * Niles puts his hand down.
[18:25] * Abrianna grins at him. "It's okay. I got you."
[18:25] * Abrianna moves to stand looking over Jeanette with the stake.
[18:26] * Niles looks at Jeanette. "You sure you want to do this?"
[18:26] <Michael> What's happening?
[18:26] <Niles> Uh, my girlfriend is about to stab your girlfriend with my firm wood.
[18:26] * Jeanette nods. "I can't stop him. And Therese wants to get out."
[18:27] * Abrianna looks at Niles in surprise for a moment.
[18:27] <Abrianna> You hold her down. 
[18:27] * Niles holds Jeanette down as he looks at Abrianna. "What?"
[18:27] <Abrianna> Later.
[18:28] * Abrianna raises the stake up, activates Potence, and drives it down directly into her heart.
[18:28] * Niles watches calmly.
[18:28] * VV doesn't look.
[18:28] * Jeanette quivers, a sigh escaping her mouth, before her eyes close and she lies like the dead.
[18:29] * Niles looks at Jeanette's Torpid body. "Well, now what do we do with her? Stash her in the wine cellar?"

Amusing Anecdotes from RPGs

So this will a bit of the recounting of funny things that happen in the various RPGs I'm playing and/or storytelling in at the moment. 

I'm involved in several gaming groups, it seems a bit hectic at times, but not really! Here's what my current schedule looks like. Our Tuesday night group has three DMs, so we run one game on concurrent weeks:

• Monday nights: Deep Horizon, D&D 3.5 (DM)
• Tuesday nights rotation 1: Escape from Hell's Reach, D&D 3.5 (Player)
• Tuesday nights rotation 2: Evil Half Orcs, D&D 3.5 (Player)
• Tuesday nights rotation 3: Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, D&D 3.5 (DM)
• Alternate Sundays: one of two Mage: the Ascension games, depending on which ST is available (Player)
• Every day: IRC based Vampire: the Masquerade Game (Player/ST)
• Random times when I can synch up with US/UK time zones: VTYMTE over Google Hangouts (Player)
